That Pesky Checklist
You know you have to do make one, if you don’t want to forget your items. But why bother with physical paper, when you can go all digital? That’s right, just pick one of the many apps that allow you to create checklist and do it all there. It’s great, because you can save it up and use to later, for your next move even.
The Perfect Moving Time
If you can take time off your working week, then by all means do it. Not only will you have a lot of time, but it would be easier to book a moving company closer to the date. And you know what – who doesn’t like a bit of time off work, even if you still have to manage other things?
Snap That Cable
Oh, no, don’t cut it! We just want you to take a picture (if you can) of the back of your computer and TV, and any other thing that might need re-wiring. Now, not all of us are tech savvy and it’s not fun to have to pay someone to set up your computer, just because you can’t figure out which cable goes where. So take a couple of pictures and use them for reference. And while you are at it, take a snap of your library – this way you will be able to organize your books without figure out the previous order, especially if you don’t have a precise book-ordering system.
About That Tape
So we bet you are going to need tape. Who doesn’t? If you have any cardboard boxes, you’d want to close them up as good as possible, but this can’t be done without tape. Now, some people like to go for the regular nylon tape, but you don’t have to go mainstream – try duct tape! The great thing about it is that you can find it in many colors, so organizing boxes by room can be easily done through the use of a legend. That you can figure out on yourself.
Trust In Quality Boxes
There is a special place for low quality cardboard boxes – it’s called the dumpster. Which then you’d light on fire, because cheapo boxes will cost you more than quality ones in the end. Buy or rent high quality sturdy boxes and have your items kept safe – otherwise you risk ruining your CD collection, shattering your nice china, or some other disaster that could have been prevented.
